Kick of Meeting for the Mobile Biodiversity project under the European Program Interreg Greece – Bulgaria 2014-2020
The first project management team (PMT) meeting under project “Mobile Biodiversity” took place with great success on 26th of June 2019 in the Town Hall of the Municipality of Kresna in Bulgaria. The following project partners participated in the meeting: Municipality of Kresna, Project Leader, Bulgaria, Student Media World Association, NGO based in Sofia, Bulgaria, Network of Hellenic Cities for Development (DEPAN), based in Athens, Greece and Municipality of Paggaio, Regional Unit of Kavala, Greece.
The purpose of the meeting was to analyze the implementation methodology of the project and, in particular, to analyze its physical and economic object and the timetable for its implementation.
After the meeting the starting project press conference took place, and the Lead Partner presented the project objectives, activities and results to the interested stakeholders and the Greek partners participated with short speeches on the importance of the project.
Under the project, the following will be implemented:
- Two biodiversity assessment reports in the areas of the Municipalities of Kresna, Bulgaria and Paggaio, Greece;
- А common strategy for the conservation of biodiversity in these areas through the identification and integration of innovative practices implemented at international level;
- Two mobile biodiversity museums in these areas, and a mobile training center and
- A virtual museum for the promotion the biodiversity of these areas.
The development of a joint strategy for the conservation of biodiversity in the areas of Kresna and Paggaio will be integrated into the overall strategy of the two Municipalities for the promotion and sustainable use of their natural and cultural resources, thus creating attractive conditions for visitors and residents.
